Finding Presence in Aging

Finding Presence in Aging

We’re all getting older, but why then do so few people feel at ease with this fact of life? While we might accept the inevitability of aging, many of us struggle with the reality of advancing in age.

Aging is a natural process. If we’re lucky enough to be blessed with a birth, we hope to live long enough to make the most of our potential and see it through all the stages of life. There is beauty in aging, as well as wisdom and grace, but there are obvious trials.

Changes to our body can be especially difficult. We experience limitations and challenges that impact us physically, mentally, and emotionally. We’re forced to confront our relationship with our body and mind–our most primal identities–and adapt to new circumstances.

If we live long enough, our way of life changes. This can threaten every aspect of our being, but what if there was a different way to relate to aging? What if we could learn to embrace the process? In learning to honor the unfolding of time, aging can become a spiritual path.

Join Lorraine Goldbloom for an exploration of issues related to aging, including our experience of feeling de-valued, fear of financial longevity, and our own mortality. The evening will include a guided exploration to bridge us into our truth and will finish with a healing to help bring acceptance, grace, and appreciation to this journey.
